The wildlife, the culture, the landscapes – is Africa the best place on earth?

African Safari Destinations

There’s nothing quite like the magic of an African safari. The wildlife, culture and landscapes in Africa make it undeniably one of the best places on earth. From the roar of a lion to the silence of the Mafinga Hills to the beauty of the Blyde River Canyon.

On Safari with the Wild Insights team, you’ll learn how to read signs of wildlife in the blood-red earth, you’ll feel the ground shake to the rumble of elephants, you’ll breathe the same air as the mighty cats, and understand the wild like never before.

Botswana

Considered a wholesome and beautiful safari destination, Botswana offers a true experience of the wild and possesses a variety of parks. It’s a great country to visit if you want to view hippos, crocodiles, big cats and elephants. It’s also a birdwatcher’s paradise thanks to permanent rivers and rambling floodplains. Trips can be arranged to incorporate a visit to neighbouring countries including Namibia, Zimbabwe, South Africa and Zambia.

Namibia

Home to the Big 5 Namibia has stunningly vast desert dunes and wild landscapes you will never tire of. This Southern African country is sparsely populated making the dramatic scenery and vast night skies all the more impressive. On Namibia safaris we stay in excellent lodges tucked away in serene settings and seek out giraffe, ostrich, oryx and black rhino to name a few of the magnificent mammals you’ll find in this beautiful landscape.

Zambia

Wild, open and cemented as a popular destination for walking safaris, Zambia’s permanent water sources draw in the animals and create the perfect viewing theatre to see magnificent animals in the wild. Visits to the world-famous Victoria Falls can be arranged as well as trips to lesser-known regions to get a true feel of this splendid country and its varied wildlife. We visit privately-owned lodges located in the heart of the best areas for safaris.

Zimbabwe

Walking boots, cameras and binoculars at the ready. Located in Southern Africa, Zimbabwe is home to Victoria Falls, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. Time and time again guests on Wild Insight safari trips in Zimbabwe fall in love with this landlocked country full of dramatic landscapes and never-ending beauty. An impressive commitment to conservation has created a network of reserves and a country that is working hard to passionately protect its wildlife.

East Africa

We are able to visit East African countries Kenya and Tanzania on request. Flanked by the Indian Ocean to the east of their borders, a trip to Kenya or Tanzania seamlessly combines a few days on safari with a few days by the coast. Best when combined, Kenya and Tanzania offer incredible safari experiences. You’ve got the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania and the Masai Mara in Kenya and if you travel at the right time of year, you’ll be able to see the Big 5 and the Great Migration in both countries.
