Kruger National Park’s wide variety of fascinating wildlife includes both large and small animals, both predators and prey. The park is home to the famous Big Five, as well as hyena, wild dog, jackal, giraffe, cheetah, wildebeest, zebra, a variety of antelope and so much more. On guided bush walks you will see an abundance of birdlife and smaller animals, including honey badgers, rock dassies, thick-tailed bush babies and tree squirrels. With a great variety of big game living in the area, Kruger National Park is one of the premier game-viewing destinations in the world.

This top South African safari destination is home to a variety of phenomenal animals including the Big Five, and boasts six different ecosystems. The expansive park – which covers land in the provinces of Limpopo and Mpumalanga – is larger than several countries in the world, spanning over nearly 2 million hectares! A number of rivers flow through the park, including the Sabie River and Olifants River, with the Crocodile River forming the park’s southernmost boundary. Many of the game lodges in the park also feature waterholes, offering ideal locations for animal sightings.

Another of the rivers bordering on the KNP is the Klein-Letaba, which meanders through the Kruger bush. Set within a 7,500-hectare private reserve that shares an unfenced border with the Kruger National Park and spans 42km of river frontage, this private game reserve promises the ultimate safari experience.

Accommodation

The beautiful rondavel camp provides an authentic experience without imposing on the surrounding natural environment. As such, facilities are rustic, yet very comfortable. Lighting comes courtesy of kerosene lanterns and there is no electricity, however some solar power helps keeps drinks cool and the plunge pool is a great way to cool off once you are done relaxing on the viewing deck.

You’re in the bush and should feel like you’re part of it. Rooms are comprised of luxury bedding, bedside tables, towels, linen and kerosene lamps. With an en-suite bathroom equipped with a shower, basin and toilet – Simple, quaint, comfortable and at one with nature.
