Staying in a private lodge during your safari holiday will help you switch off from the busy world. Our hand-selected private lodges have been chosen with relaxation in mind. So whether you’re relaxing after a day on safari or sightseeing, you can enjoy exclusive use of the facilities at your leisure.
With our private lodge safari packages, led by legendary private guide Graham Cooke, you can appreciate the sights, sounds and smells of the bush while enjoying exclusivity and privacy. We have over 75 years of collective experience organising and leading safaris in Africa. We build and deliver bespoke packages for you focussed on exclusivity, privacy and your wildlife interests.
After a day on safari or bushwalking, you can return to your private lodge to relax in the pool or enjoy a drink on the viewing terrace while reminiscing on the day’s adventure and the animals you encountered in their natural habitat.
Below are three examples of private lodges we have hand-selected for guests to stay in when on safari with us:
Mpfuvu Manor
The bush home of Graham and Maja, Mpfuvu Manor is your home away from home. Set on the banks of the Olifants River with undisturbed views into the bush, you can enjoy using all the beautiful facilities here at your leisure.

Machaton
Machaton is our lodge of choice when we visit Timbavati, South Africa. Eco-conscious, authentic and oozing spiritual luxury, Machaton is in the heart of the bush meaning your game viewing continues even when you’re in bed.

Jaci's Sabi
Be the architect of your day, Jaci’s Sabi House is an exclusive-use safari villa in the world-renowned Sabi Sand Reserve, South Africa. This private lodge is stunning, every detail is tailored to guests’ desires.

"An amazing stay at Mpfuvu Manor"
“We stayed at Mpfuvu Manor for a few days – what a magnificent location. Calm and peaceful with a view of the river – it invites you to go and seek out the beautiful animals of the bush. The location is convenient for safaris – you can see some animals really easily – especially hippos! The rooms are well equipped and have all the necessities. Maja and Graham are very welcoming – you really do feel at home. The food is local and homemade as well as delicious – and the portions were more than enough.
I highly recommend staying here, you will not be disappointed.”

Private Lodge Safari - facilities
Where you stay depends on the safari itinerary we craft together. From your initial enquiry to the final itinerary information, together we create your trip of a lifetime. We have a small, hand-selected collection of private lodges across the 7 African destinations we visit. At most of the private lodges we stay in you will find:
Swimming pool, viewing lounge, eco-conscious accommodation, laundry service, Egyptian cotton bed linen, mosquito nets, ensuite rooms, WiFi, air conditioning, gardens, flexible catering, toiletries, towels, outside dining with firepit.
This is by no means a comprehensive list and detailed information of what’s available at every lodge can be supplied as we create an itinerary together. Our team have stayed at every lodge we use prior to taking guests, so we know you’ll have an incredible experience.
Below is an example safari itinerary showing how we combine stays at Mpfuvu Manor, Machaton and Jaci’s Sabi House with incredible safari experiences:

Let your spirit shine
Fall asleep to the sounds of the bush, wake up to a chorus of birdsong and relax outside your bush camp while watching the local wildlife walk by.
All our safaris can include a mix of accommodation options so why not blend safari styles and add a Bush Camp experience to your safari?

Our safari packages
Every safari package we create is unique. From the wildlife you’ll see to the places you’ll stay. However, one thing is guaranteed across every safari we guide – we will immerse you deeper into the natural world. Graham Cooke, a highly distinguished and internationally renowned guide, and author of “My Life with Leopards”, will provide an unparalleled level of insight and understanding of African wildlife.
Observe wildlife roaming freely and watch the sun rise and set over some of the largest areas of biodiversity in Africa. The nature of your stay with us means it’s all about you. You choose what you want to see on safari with us and where you want to go, and then we make it happen. We can focus on birds, elephants, leopards, whatever you want, wherever you want. It’s all at your pace.
