We took our children and family on the Predator safari with The Wild Insight Safari Company in August 2018. I can not recommend it highly enough. The accommodation, hospitality, food, game viewing and all round excitement was fantastic.
The lodge was superb – a real luxury in an unbelievable location. The pool, BOMA, viewing deck and lounge all were regularly in use and are so stylish and comfortable. Steve and Graham have a passion for wildlife and the bush which shines through in everything they do. They engaged the adults and children alike throughout.
We felt totally connected to nature. Even in the (very few) quieter moments on drives there was something interesting to discover and this continued at the lodge with bird spotting, listening for animal sounds and bird calls, looking for tracks (in camp for the children, out of camp for the adults) and setting up motion sensor cameras over gerbil holes. Having them as hosts as well as guides gives you so much more, from morning till night they are sharing knowledge and generating interest and excitement. You can do wildlife activities all day if you want to or relax listening to the sounds of the bush if not. This was not our first safari but it was by far and away the best we have encountered.
The quality of sightings – both through volume and diversity of animals and their proximity was something we have never had experienced before. The insight provided, be it into one of the many leopards, the baboons and their family trees, interactions between predators, lion pride dynamics etc was fascinating. It is surely the best safari experience going – I will never forget waking up to see a male leopard hunting in direct view from our room or watching the dynamic between him and his sister arguing over a kill. Our daughter wants to train to be a guide now – she’s only 11! Memories to last a lifetime – thank you Graham & Steve – see you again! FH, Essex, Perfect Predators – Sabie Sand, SA 2018
