This trip is all about the wilderness of the bush with a luxurious twist. Our camp is an exclusive small safari camp, in the essence of a traditional style. Meru-style tents, which feature very comfortable beds and bathrooms with hot running water, are scattered around mature grounds. The focus of the camp is the fireplace outside the main building, where experiences are regaled on a daily basis, senses become alert to the goings-on of the night and guests are an audience to the incredible African skies. A little power is generated by the sun each day, but beyond this light is provided by lanterns and delicious food is prepared over a fire or using gas.
Graham and Steve look forward to welcoming you on this trip, where we combine walks and drives to give a detailed insight into the ecosystem and its inhabitants. Manyeleti is an undeveloped reserve, with game moving freely across it from two of the most famous reserves in South Africa: Sabi Sands to the south and Kruger National Park to the east. This means sightings are prolific, but on our trip they can be enjoyed without having to share the sightings with numerous other visitors. Overall, a perfect combination to create lasting memories.

Itinerary
Day 1 – Overnight flight
Board your overnight flight at Heathrow and put your feet up ahead of the big adventure which awaits.
Day 2 – Camp
Arrive early into JNB and transfer onto your connecting flight to Hoedspruit, where you will be met by our representative and transferred to our wilderness camp in Manyeleti Game Reserve, which will be your home for the next 6 nights. Enjoy a welcome drink on arrival, followed by a brief tour of the site and a safety briefing. Then familiarise yourselves with your Meru tent and enjoy a chance for a refresh, before gathering for a drink ahead of setting out on a game drive to begin our exploration of the wildlife around.
We will stop to enjoy a sundowner before switching on the lamp to see what nocturnal creatures we can find, then head back into camp where a fire will be waiting. Guests will have chance to change before a delicious dinner will be served.
Conversation and drinks of choice can then be enjoyed around the fire, before bed and a sound sleep ahead of the first full day ahead.
Day 3 to 7 – Camp
Awaken just before dawn and assemble to enjoy a hot drink and rusk while listening to the magnificent African dawn chorus. We will then head out on a long walk or drive to discover the clues and tracks left during the course of last night and use these to track wildlife.
We will return to camp mid-morning for a delicious brunch and to discuss the findings of the morning: What have we seen? What was nearby last night?
Guests will have time at leisure to rest or clock up the bird species from the camp grounds.
We will assemble late afternoon for a drink before heading out on our evening and night drive, not forgetting a sundowner stop.
We will then return to camp where a fire will be waiting. Guests will have chance to change before a delicious dinner will be served.
Conversation about the day’s events and drinks of choice can then be enjoyed around the fire, before bed and a sound sleep accompanied by the sounds and smells of the night.
Day 8 – Overnight flight
This day starts as those before it have, with an early start and one last activity to unlock the secrets of the bush. By this point you should be much more aware of the goings-on of the bush and feel a deep connection which is likely to drive a desire not to return home!
After breakfast it is time to pack up and say goodbye, before being collected by the road transfer back to Hoedspruit for your flight back to JNB and the international overnight flight to London.
Day 9 – Arrive UK
Land early morning in Heathrow and depart for home.
